2018 Festival Schedule

Overview of events:
[This schedule is tentative, and will be fleshed out more as the festival approaches]

Location of event: N10151 Borglin Ave, Greenwood, WI.  About one mile due north of Greenwood.

  • Wednesday, August 1: Grounds open for tent/RV camping/socializing
  • Thursday, August 2: Programs begin around 4 p.m.; music, film, etc.

4 p.m. — “Cafe” music.  Daniel Flecknoe

5 p.m. — “Stories that Stick” entertainment by award winning Toastmaster, Joe Shaw

6. p.m . — Festival mini-introduction by Dr. Anthony Horvath, Executive Director of Athanatos Ministries

7 p.m. — “Shots Fired!” Joe Shaw (a Christian), Daniel Flecknoe (an atheist), and Anthony Horvath (a Christian) take to the stage to debate Christianity/atheism/morality/etc.

9:30 p.m. — Movie:  “Fatal Flaws: Legalizing Assisted Death

  • Friday, August 3: Programs begin around 9 a.m.., lectures, music, etc.

9:00 a.m. — Festival mini-introduction by Anthony Horvath

9:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. – “Collateral Damage!” Joe Shaw (a Christian), Daniel Flecknoe (an atheist), and Anthony Horvath (a Christian) take to the stage to debate Christianity/atheism/morality/etc.

11:00 a.m. — Robert Cely — “Why Only Jesus can save the Environment”

LUNCH

1:30 PM – 3:00 PM- “The American Christian and Illegal Immigration, Human Trafficking, and Refugees:  What to Think, and What to Do?”  — A panel conversation consisting of Wisconsin state representatives Kathleen Bernier and Bob Kulp, Adel Emmanuel (Egyptian Christian), and more TBA.

3:30 PM — Collin Brendemuehl — Author of The Myth of Scientific Certainty: Scientific Theory and Christian Engagement.

5:00 PM — Music — “The Big Band Theory”

5:30 PM — Fest introduction, by Anthony Horvath

6:00 PM — “Open Fire!” Joe Shaw (a Christian), Daniel Flecknoe (an atheist), and Anthony Horvath (a Christian) take to the stage to debate Christianity/atheism/morality/etc.

8:00 PM — Dallas Jenkins (either in person or via Skype)

8:30/8:45 PM — Movie:  “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone”

10:15/10:30 — Campfire, with some singing led by members of  “The Big Band Theory.”

Morning:  — “Historical Fiction and Religious Realities” — Preston Shires, award winning author.

12:30 PM — Lunch

3:00 PM — “Christian Heritage as Isnad: Answering Muslim questions and encouraging the persecuted church through media.”  — Hudson Shires, filmmaker.

4:00 PM — A reading by Adel Emmanuel, award winning Egyptian author, followed by a panel conversation with him and another Christian who has escaped hostile circumstances overseas, name TBA.

5:00 PM — “Reading Fiction for Clues to Truth” — Debbie Thompson

8:00 PM — “The Divine Trilemma (Lord, Liar, or Lunatic)” — Steven Worthey

11:30 AM —“Literary Devices in the Gospel of Mark: A Helpful Guide to Readers and Writers.” — Jamie Greening, award winning author.

12:30 PM — Lunch

2:00 PM — “The Screwtape Letters” — entertainment by award winning Toastmaster, Joe Shaw

3:00 PM — “Reading Fiction for Clues to Truth” — Debbie Thompson

4:00 PM — “The Dust Settles” — Horvath, Shaw, and Flecknoe conclude their debate.

5:30 PM — “Who Moved the Stone?” — A ‘forensic’ examination of the Resurrection of Jesus  concluding that Jesus truly did rise from the dead — Dr. Anthony Horvath

7:15 PM — “The Big Band Theory”
